Geriatric Emergency Care
Emergencies can be especially complex for older adults — and your support helps us meet those challenges with expertise, compassion and advanced lifesaving technology. The Myrtle Dermody Emergency Care Center is the first in Orange County to be designated a Geriatric Emergency Department by the American College of Emergency Physicians.
Your generosity helps ensure seniors receive specialized, age-appropriate care supported by leading-edge technology that enhances safety, speeds diagnosis and improves outcomes. Because of you, older adults experience greater comfort, dignity and peace of mind when it matters most. Marilyn V. Adams Geriatric Emergency Program
Inspired by Marilyn V. Adams’ generosity, this program helps older adults receive specialized, compassionate care through a dedicated Geriatric Health Navigator, who guides patients and families through emergency visits and care decisions.
Philanthropic support also strengthens comfort-focused services through the Marilyn V. Adams Comfort Care Fund, helping to enhance hospice and palliative care.

H.E.L.P.
Your support helps protect the health and independence of older adults during a hospital stay. The Hospital Elder Life Program (H.E.L.P.) is designed to prevent delirium and functional decline — reducing readmissions and supporting a safe, successful transition home.
Through your generosity, each patient receives essential resources, including education on sleep, relaxation and pain management, along with comfort items like sleep masks, exercise tools and healing journals.
Because of you, seniors experience more supportive care, stronger recoveries and greater confidence as they return home. To learn about ways to support the Hospital Elder Life Program, we invite you to connect with one of our Development Officers at (949) 452-3724 or by email at [email protected].
